Julie Averill, Founder & CEO
Julie Averill is a transformational technology leader, board director, and author. She advises companies on strategy, AI, operations, and people. As Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President at lululemon, she led an eight-year global technology and cultural transformation that helped grow the company from $2 billion to over $10 billion in revenue. Her work reshaped ecommerce, retail, supply chain, and cybersecurity while building a world-class global tech team across Vancouver, Seattle, Shanghai and Bangalore.
Before lululemon, Julie held senior technology roles at REI and Nordstrom, where she drove major digital and omnichannel expansions. She is recognized for blending strategy and execution, pairing deep technical knowledge with a values-driven leadership style.
She now serves on boards and advisory councils, speaks internationally, and is writing a forthcoming book (planned 2026) on transforming organizations and becoming her authentic self.
Julie founded Gold Thread LLC in 2025 to bring her portfolio of board service, advisory work, public speaking, and writing under one umbrella.
